Cards for All Occasions
Give a one-of-a-kind gift for any occasion. The block printing process creates a unique print every time, meaning no two cards are ever the same.
The Process
Printmaking with Linocut Stamps
First, draw a design on the block - like a jackalope - and then carve it. Get all of the little cut marks low enough so they don’t show up on the print.
Next, ink the block. When you roll out the ink with the brayer there should be a sizzle noise and it’ll feel kind of sticky, not goopy.
Place your block face up and lay the paper on top of it.
Rub the back of the paper with the baren to transfer the ink.
Carefully peel the paper off of the stamp.
Enjoy your work! Let the ink dry for a couple of days (away from pets) and you’re all set.
